    PROGRAM AIDE

    SUMMARY

    This position works as a part of a team to assist in activities in the areas of the classroom, kitchen and bus and/or to serve as a disabilities aide as needed. The position contains elements of job descriptions of positions with titles similar classroom aide, janitor and kitchen aide and as a disabilities aide providing support for children with disabilities. Works with typically developing children and/or children with special needs/disabilities. The position may be reassigned to various classrooms/centers/bus routes as deemed necessary for program operations. This position may receive content area technical support and training from the staff person responsible for center supervision, teacher, kitchen staff and/or program managers/specialist/coordinators.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    The minimum requirement is a HS Diploma or GED. Some states may require additional requirements for kitchen aide duties (i.e., kitchen permit).

     

    Pay: $9.49 Hourly

    ASSITANT TEACHER

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    This position works as a part of a teaching team to work as a partner with the teacher/lead teacher in developing activities for preschool (Head Start) children to provide them with varied experiences and an appropriate learning environment. Works with typically developing children and children with disabilities. Assistance is given to the teacher in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards. This position works with families to promote parent involvement in the program. This position may be assigned additional duties based upon program need and areas of developing expertise. This position works along with the teacher/lead teacher to attain the goals of the program. The position may be reassigned to various classrooms/centers as deemed necessary for program operations.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum requirement is one of the following:

    • A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential;
    • Be enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of being hired into the position;
    • An associate or baccalaureate degree (in any area); or
    • Be enrolled in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree.

    Pay: $10.36 hourly (CDA)

            $11.40 hourly (AA or higher)

    ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for the smooth operations of an office and other duties related to administration including answering phones, filing, etc. Performs all duties as required by the Program Director and/or immediate supervisor and other duties as assigned relating to the administrative component including, policy and procedure updates, typing, word processing, faxing, acting as receptionist and other clerical duties.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum requirements are a high school diploma or GED with some relevant experience in secretarial functions. AA degree or higher in related field preferred. The individual must possess a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. The position must have the ability to manage numerous tasks, possess good organizational skills, communicate effectively with co-workers and the public, and work collaboratively in a team environment.

     

    PAY: $11.40 Hourly HS/GED

             $12.44 hourly AA or higher

    CACFP NUTRITION MANAGER

    GENERAL SUMMARY

     

    Health (medical and dental), mental health services, nutrition and child safety areas are an integral part of the larger system of services provided by Head Start/Early Head Start. They play an important part in supporting the goals of the program. This position is responsible for the facilitation of Health Services of the Head Start/Early Head Start program.  The position is responsible for collaborating on the development and implementation of the program, tracking and record keeping, community relations and outreach.  The position could involve provision of direct services in the health areas only if the individual is licensed, certified or registered as such in the state of service.  This position is responsible for ensuring health procedures are performed only by licensed/certified health professionals with expertise in serving young children and their families.  This position provides content area training and technical supervision to other agency staff and ensures health services are supported by staff/consultants with training and experience in public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health or health administration. This position is responsible for the facilitation of mental health services for the Head Start/Early Head Start program.  The position is responsible for collaborating on the development and implementation of the program, tracking and recordkeeping, community relations and outreach.  The position could involve provision of direct services in the mental health area only if the individual is licensed as such in the state of service.  This position is responsible for ensuring mental health services are supported by staff or consultants who are licensed or certified mental health professionals with experience and expertise in serving young children and their families.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree in a health or nutrition field or other closely related field.  Experience working in public health or nutrition arena and working with low-income clients preferred. Licensed or certified mental health professional preferred.   Experience and training in public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health or health administration preferred. Experience and knowledge of family-strengths/family-centered practice preferred.  

     

     

    Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area).  Within 90 days of employment, must obtain and continually maintain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification (or sooner if required by local/state regulations). 

     

    Pay: $2,052.00 Bi-weekly (BA)
