    GENERAL SUMARY: The position of Assistant Cook is one role in a large system of services provided to children and families. A strong food service program is important to supporting the goals of the program. This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks and the clean up afterwards. It includes following menus and all phases of kitchen operations. The position contributes to the smooth operations and functioning of the kitchen in adherence to health and food safety codes and the strict cleanliness of the kitchen and food service and storage areas. It also contributes to the collection of correct documentation for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) which allows for reimbursement for food service (important to the program budget). Position may involve reassignment to various kitchens/centers as deemed necessary for program operations.

    This position is responsible for ensuring that bulk food and for prepared food is delivered to all centers in a safe and timely manner. The position may also be responsible for the delivery of non-food supplies and inter-office mail.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: The minimum requirement is that the individual be 18 years of age. This is an entry-level position, a high school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.

    Position is 40 hours per week, 43 weeks per year. Starting pay is $7.95 to $8.72 per hour.

Ability to meet state requirements (i.e., kitchen and/or health permit) required. Position is 40 hours per week,43 weeks per year. Starting pay is $10.26 to $13.34 per hour D.O.E.

    Preschool Teacher 1-Vacancy   Anaqua HS

    This position serves as the lead worker in a classroom of Head Start children by planning, implementing, and supervising all classroom activities. This position works with typically developing children and children with disabilities.

    Current minimum qualification is one of the following:

    Minimum qualification is one of the following: An associate degree in a field related to Early Childhood Education and coursework* equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education with at least 500 clock hours of experience in an early childhood setting teaching preschool-age children. Or be enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in early childhood education (or related degree) and be able to obtain the degree within a reasonable timeframe after the initial date of hire into the Teacher position and have an approved waiver in effect. Bilingual in English/Spanish required

    Position is 40 hours per week, 43 weeks per year. Pay is $ $1,002.39 to $ 1,169.46 bi-weekly. D.O.E. CDI HS is an E.EO.

    Infant Toddler Teacher

    GENERAL SUMMARY: This position serves as a teacher (aka caregiver) in a classroom of Early Head Start infants and toddlers by planning, implementing, and supervising all center-based activities. This position may work with infants and toddlers with developmental delays.  Because this position is one part of a large system of services provided to infants/toddlers and families, this position also serves as a social service referral person and shares responsibility for parent involvement in the program. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Attends and participates in all required meetings, activities, pre-service and in-service training that includes but is not limited to 15 hours of classroom focused professional development and methods that comply with applicable State and local laws for identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect.
    2. Plans and provides developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that advance all areas of children’s development (social, emotional, cognitive, and physical in a manner appropriate to age and stage of development.
    3. Submits monthly progress reports to the supervisor as scheduled.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    The minimum educational requirement is:

    1. A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential*; and
    2. Have been trained or have equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development.

    To meet these qualifications, a prospective employee needs to meet one of the following:

    1. Infant/Toddler CDA
    2. Other comparable  e.g.state-type) of credential* (with Infant/Toddler focus; if that is lacking, there must be other training or equivalent coursework to meet that component)
    3. Preschool CDA; plus:
