    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    This position performs all duties as required to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and other duties relating to fiscal operations.  Position is responsible for monitoring program expenses, tracking activity in program budget lines and communicating any issues or overspending concerns.

     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

    Minimum requirements are a high school diploma or GED with two years direct experience working with purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.  Must possess a basic understanding of accounting systems and have at least one year of direct experience working with an accounting system general ledger and budget. AA degree or higher in a related field preferred.  The individual must possess a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.  The position must have the ability to manage numerous tasks, possess good organizational skills, communicate effectively with co-workers and the public, and work collaboratively in a team environment.

     Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area). 

    Position is 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Pay is $16.00 per hour.

    Assistant Teacher

    JOB TITLE: Assistant Teacher

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    This position works as a part of a teaching team to work as a partner with the teacher/lead teacher in developing activities for preschool (Head Start) children to provide them with varied experiences and an appropriate learning environment. Works with typically developing children and children with disabilities. Assistance is given to the teacher in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards. This position works with families to promote parent involvement in the program. In addition, this position might also serve as a Bus Monitor as part of the transportation services provided by the program. This position may be assigned additional duties based upon program need and areas of developing expertise. This position works along with the teacher/lead teacher to attain the goals of the program.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

    Minimum requirement is one of the following:

    1.     A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential;

    2.     Be enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of being hired into the position;

    3.     An associate or baccalaureate degree (in any area); or

    4.     Be enrolled in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree.

    Education Coordinator

    GENERAL SUMMARY

     The Education and Child Development content area is an integral part of the larger system of services provided by Head Start/Early Head Start.  It plays an important part in supporting the goals of the program.  This position is responsible for the education and early childhood development content area as stated in the Head Start Program Performance Standards Part 1302 - Subpart C, Subpart G - Transition Services. This includes implementation of an early childhood education curriculum and providing educational resources for staff and parents, ensuring compliance with performance standards and recognized best practices in the field of early childhood education. 

     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Current minimum qualification is one of the following:

    1. A baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education; or
    2. A baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field and coursework*  equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education with at least 500 clock hours of experience in an early childhood setting teaching preschool-age children.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    The above knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through an Associates degree in Computer Science or related field with two years experience in areas of computer hardware, computer systems and/or data communication. Combination of education and relevant experience in a high level data processing position may be substituted for the AA degree on a one-year for one-year basis.

    Teacher Infant Toddler

    Minimum requirement is a current Child Development Associate (CDA) with infant/toddler endorsement and have been trained or have equivalent coursework* in age appropriate early childhood and child development with a focus on infant/toddler development.  An Associates’ or Bachelors’ degree in early childhood education, child development, family studies, home economics or child care that focuses on infant and toddler development and care or degree in any field with coursework** equivalent to   CDA credential subject areas and training specific to infant and toddler development is also acceptable.

A baccalaureate degree in any field and has been admitted into the Teach For America program, passed a rigorous early childhood content exam, such as the Praxis II, participated in a Teach For America summer training institute that includes teaching preschool children, and is receiving ongoing professional development and support from Teach For America’s professional staff; or

    Position is 40 hours per week, 40 weeks per year. Pay is D.O.Q. $1,160.00 bi-weekly CDA (with waiver) /  $1,360.00 bi-weekly AA / $1,560.00.00 bi-weekly BA or higher

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    The minimum requirement is that the individual be 18 years of age.  This is an entry-level position requiring no previous education or experience unless there is a local or state regulation that requires a high school diploma or G.E.D.   A high school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
